The youngest Caps player is not so young anymore. Andre Burakovsky turns 21 today, and even though he still has to wait another four years to rent a car, he can now drink legally in the States, which is really all that matters to a 21-year-old guy, right?

But wait! Isn’t Burkie Swedish? Didn’t he celebrate his most important birthday three years ago when he could legally purchase alcohol in Sweden? Is this basically his 18th birthday all over again? Why, yes, it is. He’s even retained the look of an 18 year old just for the authenticity of it all.

So far, Andre’s gotten shoutouts from the Brobeans on Twitter and a cameo from Brooks Laich, which is what many Caps fans would wish for as they’re blowing out their own birthday candles.

Tom Wilson starts us off with this shot of his “lil’ bro” just waking up.

Ex-roomie Michael Latta provides us with this gem of a picture, with both Andre and Julianne Hough’s fiancé cheesing at the camera. You also see half of Tom Wilson’s head, which is arguably better than the focus of the photo.

The Washington Capitals Twitter account got in on the action too, taking the sentimental route with a behind-the-scenes video of the Burracuda becoming the 23rd draft pick in 2013. Try not to cry happy tears, I dare you.

They grow up so fast.

2/10 Update: The Caps just celebrated Burkie’s birthday and, boy, that’s a lot of ice cream!

Happy 21 bday @andreburakovsky !!!!we love u kid))))
