On Friday, the Capitals announced that they had signed restricted free agent Tom Wilson to a six-year, $31 million contract. Wilson posted to Twitter, seemingly excited to remain with the team that drafted him 16th overall in 2012. But there was one person — or brobean — who was arguably even more excited that Wilson would be staying put in Washington: Michael Latta.
Latta’s response to the news started off pretty low-key, with him posting a quick reply of congratulations to Wilson’s own tweet.

“Congrats brother,” Latta said. “You earned it.”
But he didn’t end the congratulations there. A couple of hours later, he made a post to his own account, elaborating further on just how stoked he was about Wilson’s big pay day.

Latta wasn’t quite finished after that either. He added a third post to his Instagram, featuring a picture of the two former roommates, and also sponsored it, so he could send the message out to the entire world.
There was just one minor hiccup. The Tom Wilson he connected the sponsored post to wasn’t the right one. Instead, he linked it to a Tom Wilson living in the Netherlands, and formerly from Yorkshire.
Whoops.
If Wilson noticed the mix up, he didn’t care, as he only commented back with a “Love ya, dude.” A true brobean friendship always endures.
