There were a lot of Capitals fans excited about Tom Wilson’s new “Cast Away” inspired bobblehead, perhaps none moreso than Wilson’s former roommate Michael Latta.
Monday after the bobblehead news broke, Wilson posted a photo of himself posing as Wilson the Volleyball while Latta dressed as Tom Hanks’ character in the movie, Chuck Noland.
“Here’s the last known photo taken before the rogue wave took me away, miss ya @latta17,” Wilson wrote on Twitter.

Latta replied back with congratulations on the bobblehead and a request to “[s]ave me a few.”
Some of our best work Whip, miss you too brother. Congrats on the bobble head. Save me a few https://t.co/OEHUk2kcam

The two bruising forwards spent parts of three seasons together in Washington and were roommates for much of the time in Arlington, VA. Wilson and Latta also brought first-round draft pick Andre Burakovsky into the mix as a roomie and helped mentor the Swedish forward.
Latta currently plays in the SHL with Färjestad BK after spending last season in the KHL.
