When Michael Latta and Tom Wilson gave a tour of their apartment during EPIX’s The Road To The Winter Classic, a ping pong table, which also served as the brobeans’ dinner table, was one of their only pieces of furniture.

“I roast him on it a lot,” Wilson joked.

The two roommates, and later third amigo Andre Burakovsky, often played ping pong tournaments to settle disagreements or waste time when not on the ice (or wrestling).

But lo and behild, that wasn’t Latta’s first time with a tiny paddle. His ping pong history actually dates back to 2003 when he was a 12-year-old attending hockey camp in Ontario, Canada.

On Friday, Eagle Lake Ringette Camp, tweeted Latta, which included two photos of a board with names written on it. The names were broken down into four teams: Canadiens, Leafs, Red Wings, and Senators. Latta was part of the Senators.

Latta confirmed it was him.

This summer, Latta participated in Smashfest, a charity ping pong challenge featuring NHL players in Toronto.

Anaheim Ducks forward Patrick Eaves won, so we’re not sure Latta has improved his ping pong skills in the past years.
